GB Selection for West District Junior Player of the Year

Stirling Water Polo’s Lauren Dundee has been selected for the Great Britain Under 17 Team to play in the European Championships in Novi Sad, Serbia from 20-27 August 2017.

In the tournament, Great Britain will meet the Netherlands, Greece and Romania in the initial Group Stages before going on to the knockout and finals placing games.

This is a terrific achievement for Lauren and fully deserved as she has shown tremendous dedication and commitment to the sport travelling regularly down south  over the last 2 years to attend GB squad sessions. Lauren is the only Scottish representative in the Team.

Having a player involved in a major tournament with the Great Britain Team is a first for Stirling Water Polo and builds on the success the club is having in 2017.

Both the Under 16 Team and Under 19 Girls Team reached their respective Scottish Championship Finals in April this year for the first time, with the Under 16s winning their Scottish Final and the Under 19s finishing as Runners up.

Stirling Water Polo is a section within Stirling Swimming that started up in April 2011.
