Stirling High School win Scottish Schools Senior Water Polo Championship
On Friday 16 June 2017 at the National Swimming Academy, Stirling High School won the Scottish Schools Senior Water Polo Championships.
After the group stages, Stirling met James Gillespie’s High School from Edinburgh in the Semi Finals and won through to the final to play the reigning Champions Portobello High School.
After the first period Stirling were trailing 4-1 but staged a thrilling comeback to tie the match 4 all. Into penalties and it was Stirling who came out victors winning 8-6.
This was the first time that a West District School has won the Senior Championships. An excellent achievement following on from the success of Larkhall Academy winning the S1-S3 Championship earlier in the month.
