The Junior Academy programme (JA) is an initiative run by the Scottish Swimming Districts and the Scottish Swimming Performance Team and is an integral part of the National Team and Academy Programme.
It also provides an opportunity for coaches and swimmers alike to develop a greater understanding of many key areas of competitive swimming.
The programme is designed to work along two strands:
To aid the development and education of swimmers, aged between 11 and 14 and achieving criteria laid down in the National Selection Policy, along with all coaches working within all clubs.
To ensure a communication flow between Coaches with all levels of experience, enabling them to have contact and learn from each other.
