It is with great sadness that Ayr Diving Club communicate the following:

South Ayrshire Council has decided to phase out all diving provision within South Ayrshire. This will result in the loss of the only diving facility in the West of Scotland, and one of only four remaining pools in the country. The reported cost saving associated with this decision is approximately £10,000 per annum. Ayr Diving Club has not been given the opportunity to explore alternative solutions, including financial contributions, to retain provision.

The loss of diving provision is not only the loss of a facility, but the loss of a pathway, a community and a sport with decades of history in the area. West District wish to offer support to Ayr Diving Club’s campaign as they challenge and potentially overturn this decision.
